Griggs International Academy is regionally accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools, and the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities. GIA is approved as a non-public school by the Maryland and Virginia State Boards of Education for Kindergarten, Elementary and High School.
Griggs International Academy has helped me grow over the years in a Christ-centered way and in a manner that is unique to my personality. I have been able to meet students from around the world who are all very different, yet at the same time united and caring. The independence I get from setting my own schedule gives me creativity to build up my character and spend time on my personal interest, while being led through structured and organized courses.

Growing up in a missionary family, we moved and traveled quite a bit. With Griggs, we can travel and move at any time throughout the year but still be able to access a prominent Christian education. It offers great flexibility and insightful learning. I’ve made many new and wonderful friends in my year and a half with Griggs.

Griggs International Academy has been a blessing to my education in so many ways. My family originally decided to use Griggs because my parents wanted my sister and I to have a Christian education, but we do not live near any Christian schools. . .

Griggs International Academy has given me the opportunity to be able to keep up with all my schoolwork no matter where I was and has given me the opportunity to have an amazing education that instills important Christian beliefs. The support and encouragement of classmates from all over the world and the school administration is ever present. Learning with GIA truly is an amazing experience.
Evans M., High School
I have been with Griggs since 8th grade and I love the ability to connect with students all over the globe. It has helped me to open my social circle. I love the flexibility that I have in setting my own schedule and getting done what I want when I want. I also love how they keep Christ in every class and try to help us further our relationship with Jesus.

After having a tough time with a different school program, my parents and I decided to try Griggs. It’s been a huge blessing. I’ve been able to learn a lot at a much faster pace. I like being able to work on my own and at my own speed, and still have access to great teachers.
Jadon K., High School
I have been a Griggs student since I was 5 years old. Griggs teachers are kind, understanding, and they treat students like family. Another thing I like about my school is the variety of extracurricular activities such as Leadership workshop and Tangle art class. I love being a GIA student.
Avianna C., High School
Hi my name is Christopher and I decided to write this short paragraph talking about why I like GIA. I like GIA because I can advance on lessons at my own rhythm. I remember that at the school I went to before, the teacher said, "Do two handwriting pages", and I had to do them. While homeschooling at GIA, I can do as much handwriting pages or math lessons as I want, maybe less than at school, or even more. So that is what I like about GIA and I hope other children like me can enjoy this program by advancing at their own rhythm.

I have been a Griggs student since I was in Kindergarten and Griggs has helped me to stay in close touch with Jesus in everything I do. I am able to travel during the year and I can dedicate more time to play competitive Football and hopefully I can continue studying for many years in Griggs.
Diego H., Grade 7
Griggs International Academy has allowed me the freedom to get a solid Christian education from the comfort of my own home. It has allowed me the freedom to fit in other interests into my schedule. I lost both my grandfathers recently and being with Griggs allowed my family and I to take the time we needed during those difficult moments without worrying about falling behind in school. I have also enjoyed meeting other students and doing fun activities with them during Mentor Group. I really enjoy being part of the Griggs family.
